Learn to be a Swimming Teacher

The STA Swimming Teacher qualification is the brand new qualification, combining the Award and Certificate course together for one clear qualification is swimming teaching. This gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to plan, deliver and evaluate safe, fun, progressive and inclusive lessons to adult and child learn to swim participants. Within a positive learning environment, learners will be able teach the essential swimming skills, strokes and water safety, appropriate to the participant’s needs across all ability groups.

All our courses will be run over 5 face to face days, with 3 hours of practical teaching per day. There will be 6 units to be completed online (via STA online) before the start of the course.

Safety Award for Teachers Qualification

If you’re a swimming teacher, aqua aerobic instructor or school teacher and looking for a qualification that will allow you to provide safety cover for swimming sessions, this is the qualification for you!

 On the course, you’ll learn basic rescue, first aid and resuscitation skills.


This course is strongly recommended to swimming teachers.
